What is Squizz?

In this case, it’s a truncation of my surname, and the quite-yellable moniker used by most of my pals to identify me.

But the Internet has plenty of other definitions for this weird combination of letters.

Wikipedia says it’s the former name of a hard-rock station on XM Satellite Radio, which was renamed Octane in 2008. Perhaps the suits at XM got the idea for the rebranding after learning of this next definition…

Urban Dictionary defines it as the “short term for squirting jizz!”, as well as being an African bird, projectile breast milk, a codeword for cigarettes and a derogatory term for a closeted homosexual. Crowdsourcing + morons = 21st century truth!

Squizz is also apparently a Photoshop plug-in, a German DJ, an Australian technology blogger, and apparently Down Under the word means “a look”, as in, “give this a squizz”.

Plus, the word will get you 33 base points while playing Scrabble.

But all of these people and entities are bullcrap. I’m Squizz, and this is The Daily Squizz.

I am what I am, and I write what I write. My opinions aren’t inherently more valuable than anyone else’s, though they’re probably better-articulated. I’m probably not the smartest person I know, or the best writer, but that’s only because I happen to know some very gifted people. And this isn’t the best blog you’ll follow, but hopefully it’ll give you a chuckle and make you think about something other than how pathetic it is that you spend as much time on the Internet as you do.

If you don’t like what I write, I’ll probably worry about it for a little while. Then time will pass, I’ll drink a few pints and everything will be OK.
